News for the Carolina community
Carolina Football may be hosting its first home game in Kenan Stadium on Saturday evening, but there’s another football team in Chapel Hill representing the Tar Heels on the gridiron.
More than a dozen Tar Heels have found their on-campus community while also representing the University at a high level on the pitch. Since forming in 1993, the women's rugby team has won four state championships and advanced to the national tournament six times.
The University continues to encourage vaccination and mask-wearing to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the campus community.
The University Archives at the Wilson Special Collections Library is partnering with the Carolina Pride Alum Network to preserve personal stories of LGBTQ+ Tar Heels.
As the University’s senior prevention strategy officer, Christi Hurt believes that violence prevention is an issue that should involve everybody.
If the University stays true to its strategic plan while maintaining a healthy, safe campus environment, there’s no question Carolina will remain a leading global public research University, says Chancellor Kevin M. Guskiewicz.
First-year dental student Dariel Liakhovetski has provided his own soundtrack to life. A classically trained cellist, he has traveled across the world playing for audiences and recently found his home as a Tar Heel.
