During the five-year initiative’s first phase, student volunteers have logged more than 500 hours of “deep listening” while interviewing North Carolina community leaders about problems facing their counties.
UNC-Chapel Hill archaeologists are working with a diverse coalition to develop an accessible trail network, uncover the region’s history and spur equitable economic growth in the small western North Carolina town of Old Fort. The project is supported by the Southern Futures initiative.
Part of University Libraries, the North Carolina Digital Heritage Center aims to paint a picture of the lives of everyday North Carolinians throughout the centuries by digitizing historical materials from around the state.
Through the Carolina Across 100 initiative, the University will support communities in each of the state’s 100 counties as they respond to opportunities and challenges.
