The Blue Sky Scholars program will launch with a $5 million gift from alumnus and UNC System President Emeritus Erskine Bowles. The University aims to raise an additional $15 million to grow the program.
In 1789, William Richardson Davie introduced and won passage of a bill in the General Assembly to charter the University of North Carolina. He went on to serve on the University Board of Trustees for 18 years.
The test will introduce important changes to the Alert Carolina system.
