In the coming weeks and months, we will direct our attention to strengthening our prevention efforts. Within the next month, we will convene a coalition of students, faculty and staff to help us develop a comprehensive strategy for prevention and awareness that will resonate with students.
Carolina alumnus George E. Battle III will be responsible for central compliance; risk management and enterprise risk management; public safety; environment, health and safety; emergency management; and ethics education and policy management.
The gifts, which coincide with the center’s 20th anniversary, will create five new Community Service Scholarships and will provide the opportunity for a full cohort of Community Service Scholars to participate in N.C. Outward Bound School expeditions.
Charles and Sue Plambeck have bequeathed and pledged $1 million to support the UNC School of Law, UNC College of Arts & Sciences, the Center for the Study of the American South, the American Indian Center and Wilson Library Special Collections.
