Due to forecasted inclement weather, New Student Convocation has been postponed until Monday, Aug. 16 at 7 p.m. in Kenan Stadium, and FallFest has been canceled. More details on a rescheduled date for FallFest activities to come at a later date.
We're starting the year off in exciting fashion with a week of programs, events and special opportunities geared to welcome students, help them learn about their new home and connect with other new students.
The nation's first public university, UNC-Chapel Hill is home to centuries-old traditions and experiences that connect generations of Tar Heels. Watch the Bell Tower lighting the night before the first day of class, go for a stroll on Franklin Street and cheer on the Tar Heels in Kenan Stadium.
We want all Tar Heels to succeed and grow, both in academic classes and outside of them. The University boasts hundreds of student groups and various support services to help make that happen for all students, whether it's their first year at Carolina or last.
“It’s a great day to be a Tar Heel” is a phrase you’ll often hear around Carolina, and for a good reason. Every day, Tar Heels create a positive impact on the world by improving their communities and inspiring change through their talents.
Meet some of your fellow Tar Heels.
