The first library school in North Carolina, SILS is educating innovative thinkers who will lead the information professions and create systems, techniques and policies that advance information processes and services. Boot camp enables undergraduates to explore career options, growing impact of data analytics on health care
Students investigated some of the biggest issues in health care during a seven-week summer boot camp on Carolina’s campus. The program is part of Project ENABLE, which encourages students and professionals from diverse backgrounds to explore careers in biomedical and health informatics.
NSF Cyber Carpentry prepares early-career researchers for data-intensive projects
Sponsored by the National Science Foundation and hosted by the UNC School of Information and Library Science, Cyber Carpentry introduced graduate students and post-doctoral associates from across the country to a variety of applications, platforms and processes for data life-cycle management and data-intensive computation.
